Men fashion: Keeping it cool with a nice summer style
by Laetitia Wong
Let’s be honest here, there aren’t many things in a man’s wardrobe that can really go wrong. Unless you’re decked out completely in a Magician-like purple suit along with a colourful pineapple mosiac tee, you can hardly go wrong with the colour combination in mens wear. Nonetheless, for the fashion unsavvy, here are the three golden rules to styling yourself.
There are 3 things that can make or break an outfit, and these are some of the things that we’ve witnessed going disastrously wrong in the gorgeous summer that is Singapore’s July.
1. NOTHING WRONG WITH FINDING YOUR SOLEMATE
Attention to all men who forwent their monthly appointment with the pedicurist, your feet aren’t suitable in any way for the public eye. Combined with the heat and sweltering humidity in Singapore, it makes your solemate situation a little tricky. We advise spending your money on something lightweight yet sturdy, and do away with the socks, gents. Please!
2. LOOSEY-GOOSEY BABY
Skinny jeans are definitely not your friends in summer moments like these. Leave that for Polytechnic kids with their backwards caps. Loose trousers and soft-fit have been in the industry for some time, offering a fresh alternative to the restrictive sweat-trappers you call bottoms.
Pyjama-styled attire aren’t only meant for the sheets anymore, lads! Think: A tousled Harry Styles. Then again, when is that One Direction band boy ever not tousled? We kid.; But wearing one of these breathable soft-fit shirts for the ultimate chill vibe is the best. Who said you had to compromise comfort and style?
