Why we love her: Dakota Johnson

If her breezy-chic getup wasn’t enough for you, the Fifty Shades of Grey star charmed us with her faux bob and an adorable little Fisherman-esque fedora. Spotted whilst on a romantic stroll in Manhattan’s East Village, the 25-year-old was clad in a comfy sweater and jeans, wearing a bright crimson statement hue on her lips.

But really, don’t be foolish. It’s an elegance only Miss Johnson could ever pull off. I mean come on, just look at her.

For similar shades, you could try: Dior’s Rouge Collection in Rouge Cannage. That baby’s pretty much spot on.

TIP: This look is absolutely perfect for a lazy eye-makeup day. Just pop on some huge shades and a dash of bright lipstick, and you’re ready to go!

It’s becoming more and more commonplace for health and fitness to take priority on a girl’s to-do-list. With fitness gyms popping out on every nook, cranny and corner (along with those stellar sales techniques to rope you into purchasing year-long memberships), let’s face it: Singapore’s been hit with the fitness bug.

5 Stellar Pieces to wear this June

by Laetitia Wong

It would be a luxury to be able to throw on a vermillion trench coat and catwalk down Orchard Road with a pair of thigh-high boots. God, how the girls would giggle and the boys would gawp. I could pull a Nicki, with that tight trench coat showing off the perfect Insta-worthy behind that I’d been killing myself at the gym to achieve.

So we’ve known for ages that nude has kind of becoming a big thing. A big white girl thing. Celebrities on the red carpet making their oh-so awe-inspiring debut walk with those floor-length gowns and a complexion that only Gods would possess.

From nude heels to Swarovski-studded cling-wrap dresses, nude has even been around for longer; Nude undergarments and even stick-on pasties and g-strings? Oh, a girl’s best friend.

Fall Looks: Bronze lids and Flushed cheeks

Oh, May. It’s a beautiful month if you’re living elsewhere and not this melting pot (literally) of a country that is our lovely home Singapore. Expect no rain, except that on your forehead and underarms, and invest in a good scrunchie, because you’re gonna want to keep that hair off your back. (Again, literally)

Beat hair boredom now!

by Laetitia Wong

I have to confess. I am bored of my hair.

Having gone through a full chrysalis cycle, dating from 2010 to the present, my hair has been through the works. From Octopus haircuts, to going unnaturally blonde for my pan-Asian face, to dying it several violent shades of crime-scene red, and eventually settling on a nice glossy black colour. That without a doubt, came from a box. I’ve got trust issues when it comes to colour stylists, but let’s leave that for another time.

Adriana Lima the new face of Marc Jacobs

by Laetitia Wong

One of our favourite long-standing Victoria Secret angels, Adriana Lima, has been crowned the new face of Marc Jacobs’ newest fragrance Decadence.

Though we’ve been loving Jacob’s Daisy line, it’s been more than enough time to switch up our perfumes and go for the gold. The scent has been described as exotic and elegant, which is a far-cry from the innocent and floaty scent that had been the trademark of Daisy for the longest time.

Poor Santa, we feel you bro.

Having switched up my laptops rather frequently over the past few years, since I started schooling and eventually working as a writer at a local newspaper and other small publishing firms, I’ve been moving my bookmarks from folder to folder, and happened to chance upon this article that I saved in my ‘Favourite Writings’ archive that I created when I was a mere 17 years of age, an aspiring writer and ardent fan of the New York Times.

In this article, titled ‘Ouch! My bag is killing me’, talks about a young woman who lugs pretty much her entire life along with her everywhere she goes, and eventually had to pay a visit to a rehabilitation therapist in order to get her posture and backaches under control.
